So. I was staring at the calendar today, trying to get my life together, and suddenly it hit me:
We are very overbooked for one particular weekend.
The children’s theater I’m involved with has a play scheduled (dates have been set for a while—oops). One of my children is the assistant director. Another kid has decided they wants to be in the play.
And then I remembered… we already have tickets to a convention. An hour away. The same weekend.
Cue panic. And spreadsheets. And me mentally mapping out how many round trips I can realistically make in 48 hours before I lose my mind.
Current Status:
Oldest son: deeply committed to the play and already in full director mode, but has also spent weeks working on cosplay for the con
Younger child: con-focused, but also really wants to audition for the play
Me: expected to be at both the theater and the con, possibly at the same time, dressed as a cosplay character and holding a clipboard
It’s going to take careful timing, creative logistics, and maybe a clone or two. But you know what? We’re going to make it work. Because this is what life looks like when your people are passionate—and you're the one cheering from every angle (with caffeine in hand).
Stay tuned for chaos.
